What's the real story?
Here are Amazon reviews on the Home RTX Mini:
- Swabodda says "Works
exactly as described. Very easy to setup. It came with everything needed
to make all of the wired connections to the TV and even included
self-adhesive velcro. All I had to add was the headphones."
- Terra says "I bought
this so I could listen to the TV in my bedroom late at night without
disturbing the neighbors. I'm a little hard of hearing and the TV sits
against the wall, the walls are thin and their bed is right on the other
side. My bed is across a pretty long room and so I was faced with a
dilemma: if it's loud enough for me to enjoy, it's also loud enough for
them to not enjoy. ...This little transmitter is
velcro'd to the side of my TV facing toward the speakers, and sends the
most perfect audio stream over to them. There's zero delay or desync
with the audio and video. There's never any issues. I can have crisp,
clear talking, music, car chases, and explosions right behind my head.
It took about 5 seconds to pair the speakers, the first time I did it, I
had them close to the TV. Now every time I turn them or the TV on it's
automatically paired. When the TV is off, the light goes out, so no
annoying lights when i'm sleeping.
- E. Nash says "My hearing
is getting poor and I was looking for a high-quality source of TV audio
so that I can watch with my family without deafening them. Purchased
this along with the Miccus
LOW LATENCY Bluetooth v4.1 Over-Ear Headphones, HD Sound, Ideal for TV,
Movies, Games, NO LIP SYNC, Foldable with Hard Case - (SR-71 Stealth) to use with the optical audio out on my Panasonic Viera HDTV, which like most new TVs lacks an auxiliary audio out. Quality
of both parts of the system is excellent. Instructions were a little
sparse as other reviewers have mentioned but setup was quick and easy,
less than 5 minutes to full operation. Sound fidelity is terrific with
no latency at all, just be prepared for a few seconds of sync "stutter"
when you first connect the headphones- it goes away in a matter of
seconds. Note that on most TVs you can use optical out and the native TV
speakers together with no conflict. If you use your optical out to a
sound bar or other system then just use an optical splitter- no
degradation of signal.
